Interest is rising in the future of regional healthcare systems and healthcare promotion policies in light of the formulation of regional medical schemes and plans to transfer the responsibility for management of national health insurance from the national Government to regional municipalities.

At this Breakfast Meeting, HGPI will invite Dr. Manami Hori, Professor at Tokai University and member of the Committee on Health Insurance of the Social Security Council of Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW). Dr. Hori will talk about the future of regional healthcare systems and health promotion policies, as well as Tokai University’s plans to create a new scheme for its School of Health Sciences and the role and contribution of that School related to regional healthcare.

■About Dr. Manami Hori
Dr. Hori is a professor of the Department of Human Development - Human Welfare Environment course at the school of Humanities and Culture of Tokai University. Since receiving her doctoral degree in Media and Governance, she has worked as a faculty member in Tokai University, where she currently holds the title of professor. Dr. Hori specializes in health and social care policy and management. She has conducted studies on regional differences in medical care expenditures for the elderly, changes to the welfare environment after the introduction of long-term care insurance, and comparative research on healthcare systems in different countries.
